Today's post has no theme other than that of showing you what I consider to be interesting photos. All taken recently by me from around our home in the retirement village called, Waitakere Gardens, here in Henderson, a western suburb of Auckland, NZ.
I hope you enjoy them.
From our balcony in the morning.
From Earth, at night. Admire the edge and craters of the Moon.
This photo is unusually sharp. We live at sea level and since our climate is classed as, "temperate rainforest," our humidity levels are general high, which makes getting closeup shots like this difficult. I often have focusing problems due to the water vapor in the atmosphere.
But every now and then....
I haven't seen this product before. I found them in St. John's Butchery in Glen Ennis. These are apparently lamb-filled pockets of dough, that you bake for dinner.
An explosion of color, halted at .0001 second.
I cannot decide which of these pictures are the most amazing. They all are just stunning. I loved the tucker bags. I had never heard of them. It looks similar to a pasty filling but the pouch is a different dough than a pasty. I googled it but didn't see how the pouch is made. It said a "baking sheet". Would it be a puffed pastry crust maybe? It looked more soft and pliable than that type of crust. There was a recipe for a filling but not the pouch. I think that may be best moon picture in terms of the details on the craters. Excellent! McKenzie
ReplyDeleteThey use puff pastry here a lot so I guessed (assumed) that it may be used for tucker bags too. I'm very fond of Moon pictures but frustrated often when they're not as clear as I would like. Therefore, it's especially nice when one works out.
DeleteHow brilliant that you got that explosion at .0001 second - as well as juxtaposing the succulents in your planter! 😉
ReplyDeleteI enjoy all of these pictures - these glimpses into your lives. I love both the familiar views of the sunrises, moon and flowers and especially the rose gardens as well as the unfamiliar Tucker Bags! they sure make look tasty with the seasoned butter and sprig of rosemary!
I'm glad you liked them, Dianne. Keep watching.
