More from ABB

Let's start this post by taking a look at some of the rocks that are found along the section of beach to the left of the sandy beach.

Arram is admiring the shapes and colors of the rocks here. I have not edited any of these pictures. It is overcast but fairly bright today. In full sun, the colors would be even more stunning.

This is a couple of feet tall

I admit that this one makes me want to do some editing...I'd like to make these muted colors blast out. But no, it's  better this way. I wish the sun could have come out for just this one picture though.
I like the combination of jagged with the smooth.

I wish you all could walk across this section of  'cobble stones.'

This reminded me of some giant prehistoric egg.

I think this is my favorite picture. (of the rocks) I'd like to enlarge it, print it and hang it on a wall...Okay, I sort of just did that.  It's my screen background now

This one almost looks like the weathered remains of something manufactured.

A  wave sculpted landscape

Low tide is the key to admiring this area.

I just can't get over the colors in this one.

I wish my pictures could be more three dimensional

Care for a soak in a solar-heated bathtub? All contoured surfaces and natural bathsalts come standard with this model.

Miniature seas, each with it's own population. They're on siesta now.

Soon, all of this will be underwater and revitalized again.

Shortly after these photos were taken, we rested and stoked up on fish and chips. There will be one more post covering our day at the beach.    -djf

    1. Jeanne, I must agree with you! These photos are absolutely stunning - no actually - this PLACE is stunning! I sure hope we will be able to go there when I come visit in February.

Hey Doug I want to do like you did - enlarge, print and hang up a couple of these! Could you send me the cover photo since I can't copy it? I want to use it as my new screen background! btw, I hope there won't be any copyright infringements if I do that?

  2. Hey Doug, your latest cover picture could be seen as a pair of goulish eyes! Seriously though where you were talking about wanting to do some editing'... well write there in the very next picture you had a big feathery pen to help!

  3. Every picture seemed to have an object that appeared alive in many ways. Each one has its own story and history. Amazing. It reminded me of the movie "Journey to the Center of the Earth" with James Mason in it. In that movie, supposed rock formations would turn into prehistoric creatures. This beach would be fabulous if they did a remake of it. They do remakes of everything these days--why not that movie. I am so happy for Dianne that she can visit again. That is wonderful. McKenzie

    1. What a great comment. You present a very interesting way to imagine the rocks. It's true that the rounded edges on everything can give the impression of living creatures...Dianne too referred to eyes in the new header picture. I'm sure I'll continue to take pictures there.
I've never even been to the very far end of the south headland. I don't know what the rocks down there are like. They look, from a distance, as though they would resemble the rocks from this post, rather than the rocks I showed in my first ABB post. Next time we go, maybe I can hoof it on down there and find out. And get you all some new pictures too.
