Arram has a passion for soccer. He plays it almost every day after school, either on the turf or on the court, and with whichever kids are around.
Sometime back, Allie got him into a beginning soccer program called Grasshopper Soccer.
He then graduated from that into the next step up. He was a member of the Ranui Spiders for a season. This year, after two Saturday morning assessment sessions, he was placed with the Ranui Minions. He is continuing to improve his skills and has received player of the day awards often. Not only is each award a pat on the back, it also includes a free coupon to Burger King.
We all support him of course and almost always all attend his games to let him know that we do.
The following are some photos I've taken around the grounds of the three clubs that host his games. His practices are held at Starling and his games are at either Brains or McLeod.
I thought that this was an interesting sign. However, I've seen no sign of any sort of magpies, aggresive or otherwise, while I've been here.
Starling is the only one with seating.
This is Brains Park. Interesting that this is the home of the Magpies. (Don't know how aggresive this bunch is)
This is Arram's current team, and he's holding his 'Player of the Day' trophy.
Often, while Arram is playing soccer, Amiri is over on the playground, and right now, is on the flying fox.
(notice the sky)
This is McLeod Park
That's Arram's coach in the foreground putting the kids through a passing drill as a warm-up before the game.
I like this sign and I'm happy to report that I can't recall a single instance when any spectator forgot the wisdom printed here. -djf
I love seeing the places where Arram and his Mighty Minions play soccer and how happy he is while doing it! I'm sure it doesn't matter to him that the parks are for the birds or the brains (bad pun there...) since he's doing one of the things he loves the most!
ReplyDeleteGo Mighty Minions!
