More Holiday Haven, Jan,. 2020

What you're looking at here is a bay within a bay. It's actually Parua Bay, but the area the boats are in has been nicknamed The Nook. It even says so on the map.

It's a very sheltered location, ideal for over-night stays.

These two own every nautical gizmo in the catalogue I think.

Allie and boys are off to swim.

Jeanne and I heard shouts not long after they left.

Apparently, the water took some getting used to.  Here, Amiri seems to be relishing it, Arram seems to be finally taking the plunge, and Allie looks undecided about further immersion.

It's dinner time....

The town of Parua Bay is very small. Fortunately, it has a top-notch fish 'n chips place.

Island Style Raw Fish is not something I'm fond of.
I did try it once at a buffet restaurant. Not my thing.

Somehow, my camera settings knob got switched over to the 'fisheye' setting for this shot. Dianne, we thanked you and your generouse Christmas gift while we waited for our food. It was all delicious. Jeanne and I ordered an extra garlic and cheese pizza to take home with us for breakfast.

The harbour outside the Tavern. Love that 'mountain' in the background.

Okay, maybe it is just a big hill, but it's got character.

Also just outside the Tavern is a long dock.
Allie and Arram are so full of good food and the joy of being at the end of a dock over the Pacific Ocean that they break into an impromtue dance.

Coming back to land. (Amiri was down the steps at the water level during the dance.)

We get home in time to savor the sunset.

A couple of experimental pictures....

Good night all.       -djf

  1. First, I must say that your Moody Blues side story and YouTube link really dug up some long lost memories! I love the instrumental part of the music which seems a very appropriate accompaniment to your lovely sunsets.

It was fun to see Allie and the boys having a swim. With their caps on. And then having a little dance at the end of the dock!

I'm glad you all got to enjoy dinner on me and had such great scenic view. By the way, I think your mountain across the harbor is a secret castle.

    1. I would have loved to be able to get up to that mountain and take a closer look. I can imagine its turrets too.
