Doorways

'Doorways are like people. Some you approach are open and welcoming. Others remain closed until you find the right key.'  -djf

A trio of uniquely decorated 13's

This door is open but I don't think anyone is home...

This last one is interesting. I think of it as a physical oxymoron.

(You have to climb a long flight of stairs (20 steps) to get to the elevator.) (lift)

I wonder if the lift goes to the top floor or if it stops one short?

Or better yet, I wonder if it goes.....down? Too funny. I kill myself sometimes...  .-djf

  1. What a unique concept for your blog today! I love doorways also. The one with the elevator at the top is really unique. I have never seen such a set up. I would think that the building would be considered non-accessible in the U.S. but I don't know the rules there. McKenzie

  2. Nor do I, but it is what it is.

  3. Just an observation: ALL of your open door pictures in this post - except one - has ascending stairs behind it. So now I'm wondering are there stairs behind the closed ones too? The trio of "13" doors seem to convey that they open into level spaces and I especially like the artwork around the first of them - I'd love to step into that shop!

So now you've got me thinking about how endlessly intriguing doorways and stairs and hallways and windows are. And walls and fences and gates. all the things that define our boundaries, break them down and open them up.

Gotta go now or I'll be rambling on forever! Thanks for starting me on this journey!
