Greetings once again. We have arrived at the third and final part of our trip to Monte Cecelia.
I'm writing this on Saturday, the first of July. Since we are in the Southern Hemisphere, today for us corresponds astronomically to the first of January in the Northern Hemisphere. We are in the middle of our winter.
For many years, during the time we lived in Michigan, we would start our new year by making a pot of seafood chowder. My recipe arose and evolved from the oyster stew my mother used to make on occasion when we were kids.
As it happens, our café was offering seafood chowder as one of the specials available tonight and Jeanne and I have just returned from enjoying our dinners. I think this is one of those synchronicities that I so enjoy noting. Just pure luck that it turned out that way, but fun to experience.
Today, we are going to look at a few more pieces of art in the mansion, and then stroll outside and into the gardens to admire a few more pieces on display beneath the sun.
We'll also look again at the mansion and finally, enjoy our walk back to the entrance of the park.
I thoroughly enjoyed this 3-part tour of Monte Cecelia! Some of the art is just so... so out there! I wonder what those 1st 2 strange ceramic things are supposed to represent. But the closer I look at them and the paintings, the more I see - and the more I wonder.
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued by those pastel spire-like things. They remind me of old-time Christmas ornaments.
Finally - I like how you get us grounded again with the gorgeous tree-tunnel and doggy park. Love your finishing touch of the hibiscus!
I'm very glad you enjoyed seeing it all, Dianne.
