I've been upstaged! Yes, it's true. My full set of zoo pictures, that I had intended to share exclusively with all of you was 'leaked' on a Facebook page. I have so far, only shown you, in this post, the first half of them.
Now, to be honest, I myself gave the pictures with no restrictions whatsoever, to the management here with the understanding that they could use them as they saw fit. It's just that they were faster than I was at putting them out there, so to speak.
So, I'm not complaining in the least. My claim of being upstaged is totally tongue-in-cheek. I'm actually pleased that my pictures have been seen by residents and family who do not know of my blog. They even gave me credit as the photographer. And most of you do not know about the Waitakere Gardens Facebook page. So you're even. Of course, now you do, so you're one up.
Anyway, let's get back to the zoo. Simon and Garfunkel said that the animals will love it if you do.
Jeanne is nearing the bus for the trip home. We were at the zoo about four hours, and I can feel it. Good to be taken home. No effort, no fighting traffic. The bus shoots along the bus lane. It was a good day.
Next week, it'll be something new. I'm not sure what, yet. But check it out.... -djf
Awwe, sorry that you feel you've been upstaged by Waitakere Gardens' posting all your pix in advance of you being able to share them with us.
ReplyDeleteNonetheless, I think you're still showing us the best of your pix here and give us a pause to contemplate like the orangutan, bask with the otters & tortoise, sit in the presence of imperial moustaches, ooh and ahhh at the cuteness of the red panda, and wonder why that Taz devil looks like a pig.
Now about your cover picture. It is a crossing for invisible hedgehogs and the DANGER tape is there to warn you of getting skewered by their prickly spines. You will have to jump over that span next time you encounter it.
Actually, the warning tapes were gone the next time I returned. Whew! I'm glad they warned us.
DeleteI loved seeing the pictures. I could feel the sun's heat on that otter's fur. It's so funny that Fred and I were just debating that the "Taz Devil" looked like a pig. I said I didn't think so and now I see that Diane agreed with Fred. Fred's quite proud. He said he eats a lot of bacon so he knows what looks like a big. It's a great picture of all the animals. I had never seen a Taz Devil so it was a new experience for me. McKenzie
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked them. The Taz devil seemed real solid too, like a pig is.
