Walk ins Welcome in Ponsonby. (well, mostly)

Okay, tell me honestly. If you were standing where I am now, taking this picture, wouldn't you wonder what's in there?

The double doorways, the unique paint job, long narrow hallways disappearing into the distance. It makes me curious. And there are stairways back there. You know what I think about stairways, right? (they lead to interesting places)

I showed you this place once before in a post about Ponsonby, but I didn't take you upstairs. Today I will.

We'll go to the left side first.

There was a young woman up there, who, when she heard me on the stairs, stuck her head out of the room beyond the chairs and asked, "What do you want.?"
She seemed out of sorts, so I said I was just looking, and retreated.

Now lets go to the right.

Tattoo art everywhere

I like this.

Here's the barber shop.

Later, walking down Ponsonby, I came across another double set of doors. Instead of going in, I panned out for the next picture.

Close by the fancy duplex was this house with only a single door. The double palms though continue my theme (so far in this post) of doubles
Although....the lattice work on each side of the door, the pairs of double pillars and symmetrical windows and shrubbery qualify this place.
This may very well be my favorite photo of the day.

Double kids rid in an electric bike.

I will close this post with a short video. I hope you enjoyed yet another look at Ponsonby. -djf

  1. I like your theme for this post and enjoyed the images you shared of double doors, stairs, gates, gables, pillars, palms and people! My favorite is also the one you liked best.

The tattoo place and barber shop have some interesting decor with the apparent hunting trophies. Did you notice how the pair of pheasants and rainbow flags also picked up your theme for the day?

  2. I loved the theme and the exploration of the differing stairs. Too bad that the tattoo place was unfriendly. I thought of 2 differing stairs in my childhood that have differing memories. One was climbing the stairs at Dr. Franck's old office (scary). The other was the stairs at the old library in city hall. I LOVED that library and have good memories of that. I loved the beautiful houses in this post and the last post also. The weather looks perfect there now if that music was recent? McKenzie

    1. Actually, I took that music video back on March 27, 2021, although we do have perfect days right through our winter. It's just that there are fewer of them.
