I have here several pictures of a monarch on calendulas, and a silvereye, or tauhou, sitting on dill and the shadows of dill. These were taken with my old camera at our house on Harvest Drive and turned out nicely.
Wonderful pictures Doug! I remembered reading an article on how to tell the difference between a male and female monarch and looked it up again: you've got a magnificent male monarch!
You really got a great photoshoot of that little silvereye too! The dill adds a very nice artistic touch.
If these wonderful pictures were done with your old camera, I cannot imagine how amazing your new camera would have captured the monarch. After Dianne mentioned the dill, I did realize what the herb was in the photo. I would not have picked up on that as I was looking at the beautiful bird. McKenzie
Thanks for the comment. What I especially liked about how the bird pictures turned out was that in some of the dill shots, the apparent stalks were actually the shadows of the stalks.
